Tables Church exists to love people like Jesus, form them into the image of Jesus, and commission them to do the work of Jesus.
Our Vision
Our leadership started with a vision of following the discipleship methods of Jesus.
As each of us on our discipleship journeys sought Jesus, He has been shaping our hearts to more deeply explore His ways. This led us to several observations about how Jesus made disciples:

Jesus used a variety of learning tools. He used questions, dialogue, group interactions, eating together, and applying Scripture to life. Rarely did Jesus court crowds or give lecture-style sermons without group interaction.

Jesus gave applications to individuals, because He interacted as he taught with the individuals. Though He did sometimes teach from a "stage", His focus always came back to knowing the people He was discipling.

Jesus did discipleship in community. He picked people to work together, pray together, taught them together, and sent them out together. Discipleship didn't happen individually in rows; it was a corporate practice in circles. At Tables Church, community isn't an extra add-on, it's the default.

Jesus' main focus was on developing the disciple-makers, initially His twelve. The teachings of crowds was for the purpose of modeling discipleship for the twelve, and then Jesus sent them out to practice discipleship themselves. As we gather around tables, we are intentionally training disciple-makers who are being commissioned to practice making disciples during our weekend services.

We accomplish our mission through tangible weekly activities in Lake Forest. We host weekly Sunday worship gatherings at La Madera Elementary, provide a dedicated children's ministry (The Kids Table), facilitate weekly community discipleship groups, blessing La Madera Elementary School, and host shared meals for our community.
Tables Church is a fully registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN: 39-4753008). All donations support our local community activities and worship gatherings.

Where do I park for the service?
There is plenty of free parking available right in the main parking lot of La Madera Elementary School. From there, just follow the Tables Church signs straight to the MPR!
Is there a dress code?
Nope! We're a casual and welcoming community here in Lake Forest. Come exactly as you are, whether that means jeans and a t-shirt or your Sunday best.
What should I expect during a Sunday gathering?
You can expect a warm environment where we focus on connection. Because we practice "circles over rows," you'll sit around a table with others for worship, a teaching from Scripture, and engaging conversation. You can even stick around for a shared meal together!
